The factory metal works British oil tank plumbing tips and mounting techniques

So here's a commonly asked question on oil tanks for British motorcycles.
We have marked the vent tube on top, rocker feed, oil feed and oil return lines . This is the set up you need to run on Triumph or Bsa twins. Alot of aftermarket tanks are pretty much a universal npt fitting system with connectors and fittings to clam they are correct for your needs but severe damage can be done on initial start up if your not plumbed correctly. On our factory metal oil tanks we supply all tanks with 3 mounting bungs and suggest to rubber mount aluminum tanks. I run thick rubber between mounts on steel tanks. Make sure when mounting to your frame, tabs are solid and you are not having to run a 3/8 bolt in a 3/4 hole and always run the bottom mount to keep tanks from swaying this will crack the tank around the weld area. Most tanks come pressure checked but are steel and will rust or contaminate inside I coat every oil tank we install on bikes for peace of mind. Hope this helps a bit -L
